Fishing for Coho Salmon on Hot Ticket II Charterboat
Our Season for fishing Coho Salmon is late May through late September. Full day fishing charters leave the our Manistee Dock at about 5:am or earlier eastern time. We return to the dock between 1:00 or 2:00 pm. Half day coho charters are from 5:00 am to 11:00 pm and 1:30 pm to 6:30 pm or so.
Hot Ticket Charter fishing starts out in the cold waters of April, fishing closer to shore and with “short lines” as the fish are generally near the surface as the water temperature begins to warm up. We go out farther as the temperature heats up. Steelhead like the water breaks on the surface where the scum line is. Sometimes the scum line is close, sometimes it is far off shore. Either way, these fish are fighters and require skill to reel them in. They jump out of the water trying to throw the hook out. These are good times for catching Coho’s and some Browns as well as the Lake Trout and Steelhead.
